  • The Event takes place on Aspen leaf Drive in Big Sky Town Center. An event site map will be posted prior to the event to offer information about parking, spectating, and more.

  • The new course is approximately 600ft of technically-difficult straight-track, on a snow-covered asphalt street. Our location, on Aspen Leaf Drive, will offer a thrilling spectator experience and is a celebration of the traditions of the sport.

    As always, our course will be designed and built by our expert course team and will include all the challenge and technical aspects you’ve come to expect from the Showdown. More information about the course will be shared in the coming weeks.

  • The 2026 competition is capped at 140 TEAMS, and registration will be held via an invite/lotto system.

    A select number of invites will be sent out to competitive athletes who have participated in the Showdown in past years. These individuals/teams will have exhibited excellent sportsmanship, a positive community spirit, and a strong commitment to the Showdown event and the sport of skijoring.

    The remaining spots will be open to the public, and awarded via live lotto drawings on our Facebook feed.

  • Sorry, for the safety of all attendees, we do not allow animals at the Showdown with the exception of licensed service animals. This includes all Showdown Parking.

  • The Showdown will host a variety of food and beverage vendors including alcoholic beverages. If you are interested in being a vendor at the Showdown, please click here.

  • We will be posting a map prior to the event that will include locations of our paid parking areas and suggested public parking.

    We STRONGLY encourage carpooling or taking local transport if you live nearby.

  • No outside food or alcohol is permitted on event grounds.
